UKG Earns 100% on Corporate Equality Index, Named Among Best Places to Work for LGBTQ Equality

UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group), a leading global provider of HCM, payroll, HR service delivery, and workforce management solutions, announced that it earned a perfect score of 100% on the 2021 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), a top U.S. benchmarking survey and report measuring corporate policies and practices related to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) workplace equality, administered by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation. The 100% score designates UKG as a 2021 Best Place to Work for LGBTQ Equality.

“From the previously unimaginable impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, to a long overdue reckoning with racial injustice, 2020 was an unprecedented year. Yet, many businesses across the nation stepped up and continued to prioritize and champion LGBTQ equality”

“When developing the programs and benefits for our people as UKG, we aimed to build upon the best of what Ultimate and Kronos offered prior to our merger — preserving the care, respect, support, and trust we hold near, while establishing our own unique foundation and identity for future success,” said Dave Almeda, chief people officer at UKG. “The Corporate Equality Index was the first equity-benchmarking tool we used as a merged company, and we are proud to have achieved a 100% score in our first year as UKG, which shows we are on the correct path — but we know our work is never done. We commend our more than 12,000 employees who are helping us carry forth our mission, and we congratulate all the organizations named a Best Place to Work for LGBTQ Equality this year.”

In scoring the 2021 CEI, the Human Rights Campaign Foundation evaluated more than 1,100 organizations across the United States on a variety of categories related to the treatment of LGBTQ individuals, including Workplace Protections, Inclusive Benefits, Supporting an Inclusive Culture, Corporate Social Responsibility, and Responsible Citizenship.

  • A 45% dollar-for-dollar match on all 401(k) contributions, with no lifetime cap, up to federal limits
  • Unlimited paid time off for any reason, including vacation days, sick time, volunteering, and voting —for all full- and part-time employees (including hourly workers)
  • Fully paid maternity (12 weeks), paternity (4 weeks), and adoptive (up to 12 weeks) leave

UKG also has several employee resource groups, known internally as Diversity Networks, to further support its people and communities at large. This includes a Pride group for LGBTQ employees and allies; ADAPT (Accessibility and Disability Allies Partner Together); BUILD (Black Upcoming Individuals in Leadership and Development); CARES (Cancer Awareness Resources Education and Support) for cancer patients, survivors, and caregivers; UKG VETS for active service members and veterans; and Women at UKG, which includes a specific focus on women in technology roles.

“From the previously unimaginable impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, to a long overdue reckoning with racial injustice, 2020 was an unprecedented year. Yet, many businesses across the nation stepped up and continued to prioritize and champion LGBTQ equality,” said Alphonso David, president of the Human Rights Campaign. “This year has shown us that tools like the CEI are crucial in the work to increase equity and inclusion in the workplace, but also that companies must breathe life into these policies and practices in real and tangible ways. Thank you to the companies that understand protecting their LGBTQ employees and consumers from discrimination is not just the right thing to do — but the best business decision.”
