HRTech Interview with Pearce Dolan, Head of Product at Deel

Pearce Dolan, Head of Product at Deel chats about the product’s latest enhancements and the future of HRTech in this HRTech Catch-up:

___________

Tell us about yourself and your role at Deel, Pearce…

I’m an early employee at Deel, where I am Head of Product. I focus on our HRIS product, Deel Engage, compensation,  onboarding, and immigration services. I’m also Head of Design – which I particularly enjoy!

Take us through some of Deel’s newest product enhancements?

Over the last year we’ve introduced a lot of new capabilities for our customers. This includes Deel Engage, our knowledge and learning, performance management and career development product, which helps customers manage, develop and engage their workforce.

We also launched Deel IT, which makes it easier than ever to hire employees abroad. It’s a full managed IT solution, so employers can lease, buy, and set up new devices for their employees.

Deel also launched a completely new mobile app that helps customers do their job on the go, complete with the security needed to build trust enough to do sensitive work via mobile. We’ve continued to invest in customer experience, with an emphasis on how line managers work with Deel.

How will it impact the product roadmap and growth initiatives? What can users expect from Deel in 2025?

2025 will be a banner year for Deel – just as the last five have been. We’re making leaps towards doing everything to fully support HR teams of global companies. We know their job is already extremely complex, so Deel is simplifying it. We’re making it possible to do this job confidently, quickly and accurately. We’ll be launching more that is guided by AI, so that self-serve campaigns are possible in minutes. And stay tuned for our follow-up to Deel HR, as we’re investing more in compensation management and workforce planning.

A few thoughts on the most innovative AI-powered HRTech features and tools that are having an influence in the HRTech landscape today?

Absolutely. I think the best AI is subtly integrated into products that we use. Deel’s immigration product is a great example of this. We use AI to take minimal information, one time, and turn it into a slew of documents and proposals needed for immigration services. Normally this would take weeks, but with AI,  it takes hours. I love how apparent the benefit is for users of this product.

What key trends will dominate HRTech through 2025 in your view?

More and more consolidation – because so many integrations are still obviously lacking. Tool sprawl is still an issue, which is why Deel is all-in on interoperability. We have an open API and a hyper-modular API-driven infrastructure, which our customers love.
