AmeriHealth Caritas, a national leader in Medicaid managed care and other health care solutions for those most in need, announced that it has appointed Ash Hanson as Executive Vice President (EVP) and Chief Human Resources Officer. Hanson brings 25 years of leadership experience in human resources to the company. In her role as EVP, Chief Human Resources Officer, Hanson will oversee associate relations, learning, development, benefits, and recruiting for AmeriHealth Caritas’ more than 8,000 associates nationwide. She will report to Chairman and CEO Paul A. Tufano.
Hanson joins AmeriHealth Caritas following 20 years in human resources and diversity, equity, and inclusion leadership roles at Aramark. Most recently, she led the company’s Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy. Her role at AmeriHealth Caritas will tap her strengths and expertise in diversity, equity, and inclusion; leadership development; talent acquisition and management; strategic change management; learning strategies; and organizational effectiveness.

Hanson succeeds Carol Pandza, who will be retiring at the end of the year as Senior Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer.
Hanson is a graduate of the University of Madras in India, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English literature. She also attended the Columbia University Teacher’s College to become a certified coaching professional.
