“Frontline work is the largest segment of the global workforce, but it’s been underserved by traditional hiring systems,” said Sean Behr, CEO of Fountain.

The announcement marks Fountain’s first inclusion in the report and comes as Fountain prepares to launch Cue, a new system designed to run frontline hiring and staffing in real time.

Fountain’s inclusion also comes at an inflection point in hiring, which is shifting from systems that track workflows through a series of steps to systems that execute outcomes. Purpose-built for frontline and hourly hiring at scale – rather than adapting legacy application tracking systems – we believe Fountain is built for that market evolution.

“Frontline work is the largest segment of the global workforce, but it’s been underserved by traditional hiring systems,” said Sean Behr, CEO of Fountain. “In our opinion, this recognition reflects what we’re hearing from customers every day: that hiring isn’t just about managing pipelines anymore. It’s about making sure roles are filled and teams are ready to work. We believe the future of this category is systems that don’t just track hiring but actually run it.”

In our view, the recognition from Gartner reflects a broader shift in the market toward speed, automation and operational execution, especially in industries like logistics, retail and staffing. We believe it also validates Fountain’s view that high-volume hiring is no longer a niche use case but is becoming a primary driver of workforce strategy.

Fountain’s AI-native Cue agent reduces drop-off and no-shows; keeps locations staffed in real time; and automates coordination across hiring and scheduling.
