The Disability Equality Index, in partnership with the American Association of People with Disabilities, grades companies on the merits of their policies, programs, and practices for hiring, including, and serving people with disabilities across the business. Established in 2015, the Disability Equality Index is considered the United States’ most comprehensive disability-inclusion assessment tool that is designed and embraced by both business leaders and disability advocates representing a vast array of sectors, such as technology, financial services, insurance, and healthcare.

Ultimate has implemented several onsite and digital accessibility measures in recent years to better serve all employees, customers, partners, and visitors every day. This includes UltiPro product enhancements; updates to Ultimate’s website; improvements to the company’s recruiting platform and processes; changes to internal learning materials, course curricula, and trainings; and new resources focused on mental and physical health. While the majority of employees have worked virtually during the COVID-19 pandemic, Ultimate’s Campus Operations team has been working onsite companywide to equip buildings and prepare workspaces, making any necessary changes to facilitate a safe return to the office for employees.

The company is also launching a new Community of Interest employee-resource group in August known as ADAPT, which stands for Accessibility and Disability Allies Partner Together, for people with disabilities, caretakers of people with disabilities, supporters of the disability and accessibility community, and those who promote a more inclusive world regardless of disability. The group’s mission is for people of all abilities to feel supported, to spread awareness about disability and accessibility, and to embrace a culture that is considerate of everyone. ADAPT builds upon the work of Ultimate’s U Belong program, dedicated to ensuring all employees are comfortable bringing their whole, authentic selves to work.
