Clearspan Announces Executive Leadership Structure

Newly independent Clearspan combines tenured leadership with new executives

Clearspan, a leading cloud communications and collaboration technology provider, today announced two new executive appointments following its recent divestment from Mitel. The appointments continue to solidify the team tasked with achieving the company’s growth plans and aggressive innovation agenda.

Chris Boulton, an industry expert with over 20 years of experience in VoIP and unified communications technologies, has been appointed Clearspan’s Chief Technology Officer. Boulton is responsible for the company’s technical direction and innovation agenda. Throughout his career, Boulton has made significant industry contributions, actively participating in the Internet Engineering Task Force and the Java Community Process Program, publishing numerous standards, and authoring various technical whitepapers and books.

John Dumbleton, an industry veteran with 30 years of marketing, sales, product development, channel development, and corporate development experience, will serve as Clearspan’s Chief Marketing Officer. Dumbleton is responsible for all marketing and product related strategies and initiatives. Prior to Clearspan, Dumbleton held executive leadership roles at Masergy, McCleodUSA, and Allegiance Telecom.

Bob Harvatin, who led Clearspan’s Operations under Mitel since 2014, has assumed the role of Chief Operating Officer, overseeing operations, engineering, provisioning, and support. Additionally, David Chambers, Clearspan’s original architect with over 35 years of tenure, has assumed the role of Chief Service Architect, working closely with Boulton to accelerate the company’s innovation agenda.
