Greenberg Traurig Mexico City Achieves 100% Score On The Human Rights Campaign Equidad MX LGBTQ+ Survey

Global law firm Greenberg Traurig LLP has achieved the top rating of 100% on the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Equidad MX: Global Workplace Equality Program 2020 survey for businesses in Mexico. Those receiving a 100% score are recognized as an HRC “Best Place to Work” for the LGBTQ+ community. The firm was one of the few law firms to receive this recognition in Mexico.

The HRC Equidad MX survey rates businesses on a scale from 0 to 100% based on lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBTQ+) workplace policies and benefits. The HRC Equidad MX survey assessed major Mexican businesses and multinational companies based on three core pillars of LGBTQ+ inclusion; adoption of non-discrimination policies; creation of employee resource groups or diversity and inclusion councils; and engagement in public activities to support LGBTQ inclusion.

According to HRC, since its inception in 2016, the pioneering HRC Equidad MX: Global Workplace Equality Program has been successful in promoting LGBTQ equality and inclusion among Mexican businesses and corporations. As with its U.S. counterpart, the HRC’s Corporate Equality Index (CEI), the initiative was designed to help employers become LGBTQ-inclusive by assessing corporate practices and policies in an annual survey. This year, HRC Equidad MX reports that a record number of companies were recognized with the HRC Foundation’s designation of “Best Places to Work for the LGBTQ Community” or “Mejores Lugares para Trabajar LGBT.” Greenberg Traurig has also scored 100 % on the HRC CEI in the United States during several years.

Greenberg Traurig is proud to stand with the LGBTQ+ community, and those who support equality and inclusion for all. The firm is active in social causes, case matters, and other actions that strengthen protections for the LGBTQ+ community. Further, the firm notes that it is dedicated to the idea that every person deserves the opportunity to be safe from discrimination in life and at work and should be able to proudly and openly bring his or her true self to every opportunity. The firm and the members of its LGBTQ+ Affinity Group have sponsored, hosted, or implemented a wide range of activities supporting professionals and organizations key to the LGBTQ+ community.
