Newcomers to Canada and Indigenous Peoples to Gain Access to Innovative New Salesforce Training Program

The Two-Week Course Will Provide Underrepresented Groups With the Hard and Soft Skills Needed to Enter Vancouver’s Tech Workforce

Traction for Good, the community engagement program of Traction on Demand, announced the launch of a new training program called Traction Access. This two-week course aims to accelerate professional development for newcomers to Canada and Indigenous peoples by providing access to in-demand Salesforce skills and employment opportunities.

“We want to help people reach their potential by giving what we’re good at, which is increasing human capacity,” says Greg Malpass, Founder and CEO of Traction on Demand. “The response to Traction Access has been huge. We’re excited to get in the room with these 20 participants and support the next wave of tech workers.”

Traction for Good has partnered with local non-profit organizations First Nations Technology Council, ISSofBC, Mosaic BC, and YWCA of Vancouver to identify and recruit 20 participants from a pool of 120 applicants. Traction Access pairs participants with Traction on Demand’s Salesforce experts who will provide training in both Salesforce-specific skills like data management, business process automation, and security, as well as workplace-focused soft skills like project management and communication.

As a result of the program, participants will receive a skill-based credential that highlights their knowledge of the Salesforce platform and accelerates their personal and professional development. Traction Access will close with an industry-led career fair in which participants can connect directly with local organizations that are looking to hire.
