Data from respondents suggest that the majority of the American workforce (54.8 percent of survey respondents) consider themselves more than 25 percent more productive while working from their home offices rather than the corporate spaces they previously utilized. The figure is attributed to reduced or eliminated commute time, increased flexibility in their daily schedules and achievement of a better overall work/life balance.
In tandem, some of those working from home are also reporting a decrease in their overall personal wellness. A total of 25.5 percent of respondents implied reduced connections with friends and family, uncertainty about the future, fear of layoff and unemployment and health and safety risks associated with the COVID-19 health pandemic are all contributing to this statistic.

“We conducted this survey to help business leaders better understand their vulnerabilities, threats and risks based on perspectives from their employees and accounting for workflow changes that have taken place in recent months,” says Joe Mechlinski, CEO and founder of SHIFT.
A New York Times bestselling author, speaker, investor and social entrepreneur, Mechlinski believes the global health pandemic has presented an opportunity for all businesses to re-imagine the future of their work.
