Global 10,000-Employee Services Provider Selects UKG Pro to Elevate HCM Functionality

UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group), a leading global provider of HCM, payroll, HR service delivery, and workforce management solutions, announced today that SBM Management Services, a soft-services provider with more than 10,000 employees around the globe, has selected UKG Pro to handle its complex business needs.

SBM services more than 350 million square feet throughout North America, Latin America, and Asia. Market sectors include corporate headquarters, manufacturing, hospitals/healthcare, pharmaceutical, defense, education, technology, sports and entertainment facilities, and distribution. The company found that the ERP solution it was using for HR, financials, and payroll didn’t meet the company’s needs, and sought a new platform to deliver business value.

“We needed to reimagine our ERP and HCM capabilities, so we chose UKG Pro,” said Christopher McLaughlin-Brooks, CIO at SBM. “The solution directly addresses the most important aspects of our business: the unparalleled way it handles union entitlements, and how it manages compliance around time, attendance, and payroll. From an IT perspective, UKG delivers a consolidated, end-to-end solution that greatly reduces the potential points of failure in the classic distributed platforms that we all know.”

In addition to lauding UKG Pro’s capabilities, McLaughlin-Brooks reported a standout launch experience.

“I consider UKG Pro to be one of the best launch experiences of my career,” said McLaughlin-Brooks. “UKG is building not only a technology platform with SBM, but also a deep partnership with active involvement from UKG leadership. The UKG Pro team is personally invested in our success, with daily communication about all facets of our launch. I have a dedicated individual for questions and escalations who is totally engaged in a way I haven’t seen before.”

McLaughlin-Brooks noted that, despite the challenges of launching UKG Pro in a socially distanced environment, UKG’s experts have created a virtual community that simulates the energy of the physical experience. UKG has taken the lead to communicate with even greater frequency to keep everybody on track.

“I believe that our outstanding launch experience is a reflection of UKG’s amazing culture,” said McLaughlin-Brooks. “I see a diverse workforce, I see women in leadership roles, I see smart people doing the right things at the right time. I was very impressed that UKG celebrated Juneteenth. As an African-American executive, I smiled when the UKG team told me that Juneteenth was a company holiday and that no meetings would be scheduled that day. I see employees rallying around common causes, which, in this case, is the customer. I see people coming to work with a positive spirit about the project, pride around the product, and a desire to achieve excellence in the jobs they do. All these things bode well for a successful implementation.”

“We are delighted that SBM has chosen UKG Pro and that the solution will serve as a key driver of business success,” said Greg Swick, chief revenue officer at UKG. “Our commitment to building lifelong partnerships begins at the very start of our relationships with customers, and we are pleased that the way UKG cares for its employees is reflected in the way we care for our customers.”
