Segra Announces Updates to Its Executive Leadership Team

Segra, one of the largest fiber infrastructure network companies in the Eastern U.S., announced the appointment of several new members to its executive team. Appointments include Vonya Alleyne as Chief People Officer, Robin Dunson as Chief Legal Officer, Tim Montz as Chief Financial Officer, Scott Wallhermfechtel as Chief Technology Officer and Dan Watts as Chief Operating Officer.

Vonya Alleyne has over 25 years of human resources experience and previously served as Vice President, People Solutions at Cox for the past eight years. Her experience includes employee and labor relations, onboarding, workforce management, coaching and development, performance management, and execution of safety and risk management. In her new role, she will be responsible for talent acquisition, workforce processes, systems and programs to support Segra’s growth while fostering the company’s renowned innovative customer service culture.

Robin Dunson brings to Segra over 20 years of experience in senior-level counsel, including leadership positions in both publicly and privately held telecommunications companies. In her previous role, she served as Assistant Vice President, Associate General Counsel-Commercial at Cox Enterprises, Inc. Throughout her career, Dunson has also served as Assistant General Counsel at Cox Communications, Inc., Counsel at SBC/Ameritech, and Attorney at AT&T Corporation. As CLO, Dunson will serve as the strategic lead on all company legal matters including corporate governance, complex contract negotiations (customer and supplier), employment, regulatory, real estate, and litigation.

Tim Montz joins Segra from Cox Communications, Inc. where he most recently served as Vice President of Finance. He brings expertise in finance and operations from his 17 years at Cox and roles at InterContinental Hotel Group, ProAct Technologies and the Municipal Gas Authority of Georgia. As Segra’s CFO, he will manage the company’s finances including financial planning, accounting and procurement.

Scott Wallhermfechtel brings over 30 years in telecommunications and network management experience to his new role as CTO for Segra. He will oversee Segra’s network planning, product strategy as well as all engineering functions, and the Segra Data Center. Most recently Wallhermfechtel served as Segra’s Vice President of Network Operations and Engineering, and was responsible for the Network Operation Center, as well as managing field operations, network engineering and nine data centers. Previously, he was a Vice President at Lumos Networks and for AboveNet, and was a Director of Network Operations at Metromedia Fiber Networks.

Dan Watts, Segra’s newly named COO, will lead Segra’s Network Operations Centers, Security Operations Center, customer service centers, service delivery teams, outside plant and field operations. Watts previously served for five years as Segra’s Vice President, Product & Business Development. Other experience includes President of TSAChoice and at Windstream Communications, where he began his career and served in various leadership positions in both operations and sales.
