Couchbase Names Fidelma Butler Chief People Officer

Couchbase, Inc., a cloud database platform startup, has announced the appointment of Fidelma Butler as chief people officer. Butler will head the people function, which will be in line with the company’s values and operational goals.

Butler brings to Couchbase a lot of expertise in leadership, with a focus on scaling SaaS teams and developing award-winning corporate cultures. She joins Couchbase from Zendesk, where she most recently served as vice president of the personnel and organizational development team, where she oversaw the global organization development, engagement, acquisition, and learning teams. Butler began her career as a consultant in Accenture’s personnel management department, focusing on large-scale technological and business model changes, and then oversaw the people function for fintech firm Realex Payments.

Butler will head a worldwide team responsible for business partnerships and operations, talent acquisition, employee experience and engagement, complete rewards, workspace, and implementing the organization’s future talent plan. She will be critical in building Couchbase’s culture with its scattered teams of great individuals.
