Quantum Workplace Named Sample Vendor in Two Categories of Gartner Hype Cycle for Human Capital Management Technology, 2021 Report
Quantum Workplace, a leading provider of comprehensive employee engagement and performance software, as well as the leader in data collection for nearly 50 Best Places to Work Programs across North America, announced it has been identified as a Sample Vendor in the Gartner Hype Cycle for Human Capital Management Technology, 2021. Gartner subscribers can view the report. Quantum Workplace was named in the Voice of the Employee and the Continuous Employee Performance Management categories. Quantum Workplace was one of only two vendors to be mentioned in both categories.
The Gartner report states, “This Hype Cycle report helps application leaders supporting human capital management (HCM) technology transformation to understand the maturity and capabilities of technologies in the marketplace.” It adds, “The technologies featured in this Hype Cycle reflect these developments, including the recognition that HCM suites have become mainstream. Innovation profiles such as the HR application framework represent what Gartner predicts as the successor of talent management and HCM suites.”

According to the report, “Voice of the employee (VoE) solutions collect and analyze employee opinions, perceptions and feelings. They use surveys, feedback tools and other data sources to gather worker sentiment and infer preferences, opinions and well-being. They deliver insights with actionable guidance to help improve employee engagement, experience, productivity and performance. VoE can become a key component of a firm’s ‘sense and respond’ feedback loop when connected with HCM and digital workplace technologies. Enterprises worldwide are coping with the rapid pace of change accelerated by the pandemic, and its downstream impacts on their employees. Many continue to use an annual survey as the primary means of gathering employee feedback, but struggle to capture more frequent changes in perception as their employees react to organizational changes and external market events. VoE solutions include annual surveys and other feedback tools to better capture employee perceptions, feelings, opinions and ideas.”
The report also states, “Continuous employee performance management tools enable managers and employees to frequently track progress toward goals, capture peer and 360-degree feedback, prepare and execute one-on-one check-ins, and provide and receive performance and development feedback. Increasingly, they now include objectives and key results (OKRs), coaching, managing one-to-one preparation and follow-ups, and pulse engagement surveys. Continuous performance management done well often leads to improved motivation, engagement, employee productivity and manager effectiveness. When employees are all working toward goals aligned to corporate strategy, better business results generally follow. In a fast-paced business environment, given COVID-19 and remote work, regular feedback and check-ins help ensure that workers are focused on the right things, and growing and adapting to the changing nature of their work and environment.”
