Lessonly Boosts Enterprise Readiness with SOC 2 Type 2 Audit and New Features

The audit validates Lessonly as a trusted partner in employee training and enablement for any organization concerned about security—from small teams to enterprise scale.

Lessonly, the leader in online training software, has successfully completed its AICPA Service and Organization Controls (SOC) 2 Type 2 audit. The audit, which was completed by The Mako Group, revealed no exceptions—which means that all of Lessonly’s information security practices, policies, and operational procedures meet or exceed security standards.

Developed by the American Institute of CPAs, SOC 2 specifies criteria for managing customer data securely. Lessonly received its Type 1 report in November of 2019 and quickly started working towards its Type 2 assessment. Achieving SOC 2 compliance highlights Lessonly’s commitment to customer care and security.

“The SOC 2 Type 2 audit is a gold standard in security and compliance for organizations,” said Lessonly’s Director of Information Security Steve Cornett. “We’re thrilled to receive this report with zero exceptions, which proves we can deliver the best service and support to even our largest and most complex customers.”

In addition, Lessonly launched numerous product and feature updates in 2020 to help enterprise organizations deliver and scale training. The company rolled out custom roles and permission settings, enhanced integrations, extended accessibility options for large teams—as well as more robust grading and analytics functionality. Customers are also enjoying an improved user experience with SCORM files and a new library that makes using images across lessons and paths in large organizations simple.
