Diligent, the leading modern governance company, today announced the launch of its “We Care Grant Program,” which offers a $1,000 grant to education, government municipalities and agencies, and registered nonprofit organizations to aid in the transition to digital operations. To receive the grant, eligible organizations must apply by December 15, 2020.
“While there has been a focus on the impact of the pandemic on corporate America, it is important to remember that community, government, and other mission-driven organizations have faced their own set of unique challenges”
Due to the pandemic, mission-driven organizations are facing reduced revenues and funding, added emergency responsibilities, and increased operating costs. With the sudden shift to remote work, it has become clear that organizations need to embrace a digital transformation sooner than expected. Mission-driven organizations have found themselves in need of additional support to adapt to the new normal – including virtual city council meetings, increased transparency and communication from school boards and districts, and online non-profit board meetings.
“While there has been a focus on the impact of the pandemic on corporate America, it is important to remember that community, government, and other mission-driven organizations have faced their own set of unique challenges,” said Brian Stafford, CEO of Diligent. “At Diligent, we feel a responsibility to help these organizations by equipping them with the tools and resources they need to succeed. Through the ‘We Care Grant Program,’ we hope to provide some much-needed support in fast-tracking digital transformation for these organizations around the world.”
Tricia Winters, Executive Assistant to the Superintendent at Cottonwood Oak Creek School District in Arizona commented that, “During the COVID-19 pandemic, it has been more relevant than ever to meet the governance needs of schools using technology while remaining physically distant yet systematically operational. This has allowed us to remain publicly transparent and accessible to all of our stakeholders through this process utilizing cutting-edge technology.”
