Broward College Selects LearningMate To Digitally Transform Courses And Learning Assets As They Transition To Online Learning

Broward Collage, a top-ranked public college, has selected LearningMate to assist in the design, development, and digital transformation of their course and learning assets as they transition more programs to online learning.

LearningMate, a leading education technology company, today announced that Broward College has selected LearningMate to assist in the design, development, and digital transformation of their courses and learning assets as they transition more programs to online learning. Located in South Florida, Broward College is an Aspen Institute top-ranked public college offering certificates, associate, and bachelor’s degrees in 74 areas of study. This ambitious project was made possible in part through funding the institution received through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act, also known as the CARES Act – a $2.2 trillion economic stimulus bill passed by the 116th U.S. Congress and signed into law earlier this year.

Through this partnership with LearningMate, we are fulfilling our commitment to providing high-quality, learner-centered programs that reflect the highest academic standards, while offering flexible and accessible educational opportunities to students.

LearningMate will support Broward College faculty in transforming over 300 courses for fully-online asynchronous learning doubling the College’s fully online degree programs. The objective is to create 20 fully online degree programs that include 40 transfer majors and specializations and more than 30 technical certificates and advanced technical certificates. The joint team staffed by both organizations will draw on evidence-based learning design strategies, including Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and Community of Inquiry (CoI) models, ensuring student experiences are interactive, diverse, accessible, and engaging. Scenario-based media pieces will engage the learner in an exploration of concepts directly related to learning objectives while encouraging higher-order thinking and evaluation.
