Springboard Pledges $1,000,000 in Scholarship Funding for Individuals Impacted by Tech Layoffs

Online Learning Platform Announces Career Reboot Scholarship and Free Career Coaching Sessions to Support Tech Job Seekers

Springboard, an industry-leading online learning platform preparing students for in-demand careers through comprehensive, mentor- and instructor-led programs, announced today that it is committing up to $1,000,000 in scholarship funding through 2024 for individuals impacted by tech industry layoffs. The funds will be available today through a newly-launched Career Reboot Scholarship Program, intended to assist job seekers from tech looking to upskill, reskill and stand out in a competitive hiring environment.

The Career Reboot Scholarship is part of Springboard’s wider Inclusion Scholarship Program, which launched in early 2022 with the goal to increase access to Springboard’s career-transforming learning programs for underrepresented talent and needs-based individuals. Through this program and others, Springboard has awarded over $4,000,000 in scholarship funding to-date supporting students in their pursuit of in-demand skills for tech careers. The Career Reboot Scholarship will provide eligible individuals $1,000 toward a Springboard Career Track Program in Software Engineering, Data Analytics, UX Design, CyberSecurity and more.

We saw this throughout the pandemic when thousands of people who lost their jobs turned to Springboard to start new careers. We know that with the right tools and support, those impacted by these layoffs have a chance to invest in themselves, build new skills and get the support they need to transition to the jobs they’ve always wanted. Tech talent is still in high demand, especially across sectors like healthcare, finance, clean energy and more.

Springboard’s programs focus on human support, with one-on-one guidance from industry mentors and career coaches to deliver impactful outcomes for students. To offer additional support to those who have been impacted by job cuts or are seeking new roles, Springboard is also launching a series of free live career coaching sessions beginning on March 2nd.

“We recognize that some individuals may already have the technical skills needed to stand out in their current or desired fields, so we wanted to also offer additional resources that could help in the job search.
