Dr. Nick Taylor is the CEO and Co-founder of Unmind, the workplace wellbeing platform that partners with some of the world's largest and most successful organizations including Uber, Major League Baseball, Standard Chartered Bank, and British Airways.
From a young age, Nick had a deep fascination with the human mind. This passion guided him, whilst studying his undergraduate degree in music, to volunteer with the crisis helpline the Samaritans and then as a support worker for the UKs leading mental health charity, Mind. Following these experiences, Nick returned to university for a psychology degree and a doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Sheffield, and embarked on a career with the National Health Service as a clinical psychologist. While leading a team in the NHS, Nick became interested in how organizations can better support their employees’ mental health, and how organizations can benefit from taking a more preventative approach to the topic. He left the NHS in 2017 to start Unmind.
When Nick isn't working closely with CHROs on their wellbeing strategies, you can find him exchanging ideas with industry peers and influencers about mental health, wellbeing, organizational culture and performance. Before founding Unmind, Nick was a practicing clinical psychologist as well as a university lecturer.
The profound technological changes heralded by AI have created much hype, but they also bring hope. Hope that technology can transform the workplace for the better, particularly when it comes to supporting employee mental health.
