Gonzaga University and Florida State University Support Student Success with Symplicity

As higher education institutions navigate changes in light of COVID-19, Gonzaga University and Florida State University (FSU) announced this week a new approach to providing students with online job and internship opportunities through a unique partnership with Symplicity, the global leader in student employability solutions for students and recent college graduates. Through this partnership, Gonzaga University and Florida State University are able to better help their students with lifelong success in the changing job market. The decision to implement Symplicity CSM™ at their institutions came from their career services teams’ desire to offer the most relevant and meaningful services remotely to students while creating the most efficient experience for staff without disruption—with an emphasis on protecting student data in the process.

“Symplicity’s partnership with universities simply provides the best features for an institution committed to student success and sourcing talent for employers.”

Gonzaga University, along with several colleges and universities across the nation, began shifting to a virtual classroom in mid-March closing campus in an effort to stop the spread of COVID-19. Despite the campus closure, Gonzaga University remains focused on supporting student success during this pandemic not only academically, but in their careers. Partnering with Symplicity has allowed Gonzaga to swiftly engage with students navigating the job market in a comprehensive and tailored way. “What we love about Symplicity CSM is that you can really customize it and tailor it to the student success initiatives we already have in place. With CSM, our staff will be able to offer better student services,” said Assistant Vice President for Career & Professional Development, Ray Angle. “I can have full visibility and access of student data and engagement analytics, as well as employer accounts within CSM—this information is instrumental to the decisions our office makes, especially while working off-campus.”

Like Gonzaga, FSU closed its campus in March shedding light on the University’s need for a fully virtual student experience. FSU was in search of a comprehensive platform that would manage different experiential learning programs that could be configured to give staff full visibility into student participation. “Configurability, access, and system integration is very important to Florida State University’s student engagement and success initiatives. CSM’s holistic approach enables the Career Center to track and customize student learning across disciplines and colleges, and fully engage with employing organizations,” said Myrna Hoover, Director of Career Services at FSU. “Symplicity’s partnership with universities simply provides the best features for an institution committed to student success and sourcing talent for employers.”
