Melonie Parker, Google’s Chief Diversity Officer to Lead Converge 2019

Google’s newly appointed Chief Diversity Officer and Global Director, Employee Engagement, Melonie Parker will spearhead a keynote for a dynamic group of diversity and inclusion trailblazers at the upcoming event Converge 2019 to be held on August 6.

An Advocate for Change

Prior to joining Google, Parker worked as the VP of Human Resources and Communications at Sandia Corporation and had earlier held a variety of leadership roles at LockHeed Martin in a span of 17 years in the company. A passionate thought leader, she is an experienced HR leader committed to the cause of relevant, innovative, and contemporary HR leadership. She has been appointed recently at Google with the task at hand of advancing the company’s employee engagement strategy across diversity, equity, and inclusion. She also serves the Department of Energy as a Minority in Energy Initiative Champion.

Converge 2019 – Agenda

The half-day event to be held at the Southern Exchange Ballrooms in Atlanta will be hosted by Technology Association of Georgia (TAG) and presented by Accenture. TAG holds over 200 events every year. This particular event recognizes the diversity and inclusion that drives innovation across the technology ecosystem. It highlights tech industry companies and leaders employing inclusion to drive innovation, demonstrating the power of diversity to keep companies globally competitive, creating the subsequent generation to drive the economy of Georgia.

Converge 2019 will feature a number of interactive content sessions, keynotes from industry experts, and TAG’s annual Diversity Leadership Awards that recognizes the inspiring personalities in the field. Adorned by 400 attendees, 20% of which will be C-level executives, the event will feature one dynamic keynote, six captivating content sessions, and a range of networking opportunities.
