ClockShark Releases Paid Time Off (PTO) Software to Help Businesses Manage Vacation and Sick Leave

ClockShark, the leading time tracking and scheduling software built for local construction, field service, and franchises, today announced the release of its new paid time off software and mobile app, ClockShark PTO.

Responding to strong customer demand for a simple way to create and manage vacation and sick leave policies, ClockShark removes the hassles of manual PTO administration. Paid time off consistently ranks among the topmost valued employee benefits, second only to health insurance options. For employers, the methods used to provide this benefit vary wildly.

ClockShark surveyed thousands of customers across 25 countries to understand what they valued the most, and where pains in processing paid and sick time occurred. While a full 2/3s of respondents offer a PTO plan, only 55% use software to manage this benefit. Companies who don’t use software cite a mix of emails, hand-written notes and forms, and manually updating spreadsheets to track accrued, or “banked” time off for employees.

“We know that tracking and managing PTO can be a big hurdle for our customers,” says Cliff Mitchell, CEO of ClockShark. “Construction and field services struggle to retain good employees, and offering a time off plan helps. The key is simplicity mixed with speed and a better way to request and approve time off.”

The ClockShark customer survey also revealed that 92% of businesses were taking up to two hours each week to manage paid time off plans. ClockShark customers can build PTO or sick policies in as little as 90 seconds, and paid time accrues automatically, eliminating this task completely.

Available with the Pro plan, ClockShark PTO allows employees to see their earned time and request a full or partial day off work right from the mobile app. Managers get alerted of the request and can approve or decline requests which then update automatically to the job schedule.
