Workmate Appoints Andrew Senduk as New Managing Director for Indonesia

Workmate, a startup that connects blue-collar workers with employers in Southeast Asia, has appointed Andrew Senduk to lead the company’s Indonesian office as Managing Director. He is tasked with accelerating growth for Workmate’s key staffing business in target industries and realizing the company’s vision to organize the informal workforce in Indonesia.

The pandemic over the past two years has resulted in labor contractions with layoffs and a shift to temporary manpower, especially within the blue-collar/non-executive workforce.

As a frontline workforce management solutions provider, Workmate offers tech-enabled staffing solutions to help businesses find quality, reliable frontline workers in numerous industries (such as warehousing, manufacturing, logistics, F&B, and retail).

The startup also provides access for workers to find jobs as well as build up a verified work history.

Using technology, Workmate can deliver better quality workers to business clients up to 80% faster than traditional and manual staffing solutions. Its digital platform also keeps track of worker data such as their work history, schedules, and real-time performance data to make better informed hiring decisions. This is applicable across a variety of industries, such as logistics, manufacturing, and customer-facing food and beverage outlets, to manage their key staff across numerous endpoints, ensuring that shift changes or locations can be communicated immediately.

In Indonesia, the company has seen 15 times growth in active workers since the pandemic began, with up to 97% of workers using the application for continued employment. This high level of engagement denotes the success of Workmate’s business model of capturing an engaged pool of workers who tend to be more reliable and loyal to business clients. Workers can find more than one job on the platform. The company’s clients range from global franchises to the region’s top unicorn startups, such as IDC, Shipper, and Ismaya Group.
