“Through this acquisition we are putting StenEd—and the steno reporting industry—on a broader growth path for many years to come. We are proud to invest in the people who create the record.”
For the past 15 years, RLS has delivered StenEd tutorials, exercises, and testing via its powerful learning and testing platform, myRealtimeCoach™. For the last two years, RLS has held the exclusive, worldwide license to electronic delivery of StenEd-copyrighted materials. The merger of StenEd and RLS now puts additional cutting-edge content and technology in the hands of program directors and administrators.
“Amazing things happen when good companies come together,” said Jared Carman, RLS founder and CEO. “Through this acquisition we are putting StenEd—and the steno reporting industry—on a broader growth path for many years to come. We are proud to invest in the people who create the record.”
With the acquisition of StenEd, RLS is now poised to deliver greater flexibility to education departments and institutions. “This is a wonderful time to teach conflict-free, real-time reporting and captioning,” said Beverly Ritter, original founder of StenEd. “Using myRealtimeCoach, teachers can now deliver StenEd online, with custom learning paths, dynamic student feedback, and robust reporting. Program directors now have the flexibility to teach classic StenEd, or to customize the theory to their specific needs. No other platform can match this.” Ritter continued, “Having contributed to the development of steno students and reporters for over 40 years, I am honored to be part of guiding their future, as advisory board member of Realtime Learning Systems.”
