Ruangguru Completed $150M Series C Transaction Led by General Atlantic and GGV Capital
In one of the largest fundraisings for an education technology company in Southeast Asia, an online education platform in Indonesia, Ruangguru, announced $150 million in Series C funding. The funding was led by General Atlantic, a leading global growth equity firm, and GGV Capital, a preeminent global venture capital firm. Numerous new investors also participated in the round in addition to the existing investors. The company’s most popular product, called “ruangbelajar”, is an online self-learning platform that serves 15 million students and offers topic-based journeys, consisting of infographic summaries, animated videos, quizzes, and mock tests.

“The talent market is so tight right now that it’s hard to find great people. But, one of the things I really like is to find people who have experience working at our customers – we won’t hire directly from a customer, but it is valuable for a candidate to have experience using the tools and then transitioning to the tech provider side.”

Weekly Earnings Growth Ends the Year at All-Time High
As per the latest Paychex | IHS Markit Small Business Employment Watch, there has been a steady growth in hourly earnings and hours worked – with hours worked in December posting the strongest gains since 2012. Weekly earnings went up to 4.13%, a new all-time high for small business employees.
