One of the leading sources for executive insights, StaffingHub announced that it started streaming content from its inaugural StaffingHub Live event, which took place this fall. The new StaffingHub Live 2019 Content Hub features Ted-style talks from industry leaders like Mary Lucas of Supplemental Health Care and Jason Lander of Medical Solutions. Additionally, StaffingHub also announced the dates for their second event to be hosted in Boulder, Colorado, on September 28-30 this year.

Extreme Networks Partnered with TCS to Transform and Future-proof its HR Function

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) announced the successful completion of an Oracle HCM Cloud transformation for Extreme Networks, an industry leader in cloud-managed network hardware, software, and services, empowering and connecting its workforce across 33 countries. This will help Extreme Networks with its goal to nurture talent and boost employee morale across geographies. The partnership has already shown signs of greater innovation, enhanced productivity, and an improved performance-oriented culture.

Ruangguru Completed $150M Series C Transaction Led by General Atlantic and GGV Capital

In one of the largest fundraisings for an education technology company in Southeast Asia, an online education platform in Indonesia, Ruangguru, announced $150 million in Series C funding. The funding was led by General Atlantic, a leading global growth equity firm, and GGV Capital, a preeminent global venture capital firm. Numerous new investors also participated in the round in addition to the existing investors. The company’s most popular product, called “ruangbelajar”, is an online self-learning platform that serves 15 million students and offers topic-based journeys, consisting of infographic summaries, animated videos, quizzes, and mock tests.

Given the current market dynamics, what are your top tips when it comes to hiring for a Business Development team in the tech/B2B marketplace?

“The talent market is so tight right now that it’s hard to find great people.  But, one of the things I really like is to find people who have experience working at our customers – we won’t hire directly from a customer, but it is valuable for a candidate to have experience using the tools and then transitioning to the tech provider side.”

Business Leaders Start 2020 with Lingering Concerns About Talent Shortages & Recession Risk

As per a recent survey, the risk of recession is one of the major external causes of concern for chief executives across the globe. They cited attracting and retaining quality talent as the main internal concern. Political instability, intense competition from disruptive technologies, and trade uncertainties further complicate the state of affairs for them. On the brighter side, creating new business models and developing more innovative cultures may help them sustain, which they plan on doing, thankfully.

Weekly Earnings Growth Ends the Year at All-Time High

As per the latest Paychex | IHS Markit Small Business Employment Watch, there has been a steady growth in hourly earnings and hours worked – with hours worked in December posting the strongest gains since 2012. Weekly earnings went up to 4.13%, a new all-time high for small business employees.

“Small business job gains have flattened in the second half of the year as labor markets prove very tight. In response, weekly earnings have accelerated, surging from 2.49 percent mid-year to 4.13 percent at year-end.” – James Diffley, Chief Regional Economist at IHS Markit.

Ageism in the Workplace is Still Widespread – AARP Bulletin

The last acceptable bias in America, ageism in the workplace is extensively prevalent, as per a special report in this month’s AARP Bulletin. Experts say employees over 50 are highly prone to experiencing such biases. The report describes ageism in three main categories – Hiring, On-the-job, and Firing.

Assessing the Benefits of ESOPs
