Developed by AWS in 2018, the PTP has enabled AWS Partners to expedite cloud readiness in key business areas to help customers migrate to the cloud; the result is an innovative cloud business for companies to better serve the ultimate customer. As an authorized provider of PTP, Tech Data will bring its years of experience enabling IT providers and add real value to AWS’s PTP methodology. Companies participating in the PTP will undergo a thorough readiness assessment, after which Tech Data will create a custom transformation program plan to help them build a robust AWS cloud practice to better serve their government, education and nonprofit customers. PTP delivered by Tech Data joins the suite of partner enablement offerings from Tech Data including Cloud Practice Builder, a vendor-agnostic program that enables technology providers to rapidly and affordably build profitable cloud businesses that deliver value to their customers across a wide range of verticals and industries.

“In delivering PTP, Tech Data’s partners will be able to leverage its insights from working with the world’s foremost cloud hyperscalers such as AWS,” said Stacy Nethercoat, senior vice president, Cloud Solutions, Americas, Tech Data. “PTP also offers Tech Data partners a tremendous opportunity to collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of expert consultants working in conjunction with their Tech Data and AWS account teams to quickly gain a competitive advantage in the public sector marketplace through an AWS-enabled cloud business.”

eCloud Managed Solutions, an AWS Advanced Consulting Partner, was among a select number of technology providers to benefit from Tech Data’s delivery of PTP.

“PTP enabled us to quickly and easily stand up an AWS cloud practice to meet the mission-critical needs of our federal customers,” Eric Sanders, Managing Partner at eCloud Managed Solutions. “We’re confident this investment will help us to support public sector missions now and in the future.”

Tech Data will collaborate with DLT Solutions, a premier government technology solutions aggregator it acquired in December 2019, on the delivery of the PTP and support technology providers upon graduation from the program.

“Government, education, nonprofit, public health and space organizations face unique challenges to accomplish complex missions with limited resources,” said Sandy Carter, Vice President of Worldwide Public Sector Partners and Programs, AWS. “PTP delivered by Tech Data helps technology providers deploy the power and speed of AWS to better serve these customers’ journeys to the cloud.”
