Criteria Launches Emotify, an Emotional Intelligence Assessment for the North American Market

Los Angeles-based Criteria, a market-leading SaaS-based pre-employment analytics platform, unveiled a new emotional intelligence (EI) assessment to the North American market. Criteria acquired Revelian, an Australian-based leader in emotional intelligence and game-based talent assessments, in March of 2020, and is now offering their Emotify assessment to its customers. The launch marks the first step in unifying the two organizations’ test portfolios. Emotify joins Criteria’s current portfolio of scientifically validated assessments across multiple dimensions including aptitude, personality, and skills.

Criteria launches Emotify for the North American market! What is Emotify? It’s a scientifically robust test to help companies select ideal candidates based on emotional intelligence.

Emotify is a game-based assessment of emotional intelligence that measures an individual’s ability to perceive and understand emotions. Revelian has taken the highly complex concept of EI and transformed it into two mini, interactive games: Matching Faces and Emotional Ties. It is the only ability-based emotional intelligence assessment on the market, backed by four years of scientific testing, and represents one of Revelian’s most popular assessments.

“We’re excited to bring Emotify to a new market, as assessing EI has historically been expensive, lengthy and often based upon a candidate’s own self-assessment instead of an assessment of their actual ability,” says Josh Millet, Founder & CEO of Criteria. “EI and its impact on workplace performance will increasingly be an area of emphasis for employers in coming years, and is especially relevant in the current environment, when managing remote teams brings new challenges.”

Criteria will continue to integrate and strengthen the combined organization’s assessment offerings, with the goal of having a fully integrated assessment portfolio by early 2021. Criteria also plans to make its SaaS-based platform, HireSelect, available to Revelian’s customer base of over 2,000 employers globally in 2021.
