“We expect to help with every job decision made by 2022 at the latest,” says Moritz Kothe, CEO of kununu. “Work has, for a long time, been about more than making money. The job has to fit your life situation and personal preferences.”

kununu’s Culture Compass analyzes the following corporate culture dimensions:

  • Work-life balance
  • Interaction
  • Leadership
  • Strategic Direction

kununu’s Culture Compass provides job seekers with insight to corporate culture direction. In four-question blocks, company employees evaluate the different values that are supported within the company revealing if a more traditional or modern corporate culture prevails.

“Clichéd phrases from the companies themselves, such as ‘good career opportunities and a good work-life balance’ do not add value for potential applicants. With the kununu Culture Compass we have developed a method to present the corporate culture objectively and meaningfully,” says Kothe. “Thanks to the kununu Culture Compass, job seekers can gain authentic insight into the corporate culture of companies, for example to find out whether the management of a company is more participatory or directive.”

The tool is also important in providing companies with feedback on employee perception and assists with maintaining or realigning the current culture with the company’s culture objective.

“It is well known that shared values strengthen team spirit. Colleagues who live a common corporate culture can also achieve more together,” explains Kothe.

kununu’s Culture Compass utilizes NEO values dialogue, which Prof. Dr. Timo Meynhardt from the Leipzig Graduate School of Management (Arend Oetker Chair of Business Psychology and Management) and Timm Richter, a mathematician and MBA, developed with their company NEO Culture GmbH.
