Dr. Newman’s keynote will open Engage Austin on Wednesday, June 17. Matt Iseman was a physician before following the advice of his father to “do what makes you happy” and making a complete career change from medicine to comedy and show business. In addition to his tenure hosting the four-time Emmy-nominated “American Ninja Warrior,” Iseman is the most recent winner of Celebrity Apprentice in 2017, among numerous other television and film appearances. Off the screen, he is a strong supporter of the Arthritis Foundation and the 2018 “Arthritis Warrior of the Year,” due to his ongoing battle with rheumatoid arthritis, and his battle with Renal Cell Carcinoma inspired him to become a spokesperson for the American Cancer Society.

Dr. Iseman’s keynote, taking place the afternoon of Thursday, June 18, will draw from his varied experiences in the medical field, television, comedy, and charitable organizations. In a world where reskilling and upskilling are vital to recruitment, Iseman will relate his own experience learning and embracing a completely new skill set to succeed in his new career.
“We can learn so much about how to be successful when we listen to those who have broken through significant barriers, and we are excited to present two keynotes at Engage Austin that bring this inspiring message from two unique points of view,” said Art Papas, Bullhorn’s founder and CEO. “As we address together the many exciting changes in the staffing industry, I know we will all find Dava Newman’s resolve to solve complex challenges, and Matt Iseman’s message of doing whatever it takes to pursue a fulfilling career, resonant.”
