84 Lumber, the nation’s largest privately held building materials supplier, is launching a recruitment effort to fill immediate openings at their locations in greater Nashville. The company will host a Hiring Event on July 1st from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. at its La Vergne retail location (136 Wheeler St., La Vergne, TN). At the event, job seekers will learn more about the company culture and get the opportunity to be interviewed for open positions in the area that include truck driver, door manufacturer, and production associate. Qualified applicants may receive an offer of employment during the event.
“84 Lumber is seeking to fill more than 20 open positions in the greater Nashville area, including our locations in Lavergne, Murfreesboro, and Hendersonville,” said Rob Woodrow, divisional vice president at 84 Lumber. “We’re growing along with the growth in the construction industry – here in the region, and across the nation. We’re looking for people seeking a fresh start.”

Woodrow went on to detail the openings in the region:
- Non-CDL truck drivers and helps load trucks and deliver materials to customer job sites. Drivers are responsible for building loads for deliveries; maintaining a safe, clean, and well-organized lumber yard; and loading and unloading lumber and building supplies. The job pays $14 per hour depending on experience.
- Door manufacturers need no prior experience and are involved in the manufacturing of doors. These associates can expect a starting pay between $13 and $15 per hour based on experience.
- Production associates need no prior experience and perform essential behind-the-scenes functions in the manufacturing processes related to engineered wood products, trusses, and components. These associates can expect a starting pay between $12 and $17 per hour based on experience.
