Amazon and National Safety Council (NSC) announced a five-year partnership to invent new ways to prevent the largest category of workplace injuries in the U.S., musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). Amazon and NSC have been working together for months on this first-of-its-kind collaboration.

Workhuman Survey Links Social Recognition To Psychological Safety

Psychological safety describes the feeling of being one’s whole self at work, taking risks and being vulnerable, without fear of negative consequences. A recent Workhuman survey of more than 3,000 U.S. workers found that only 26% felt psychologically safe during the pandemic and experienced higher levels of burnout, stress, and greater feelings of being lonely. The survey further revealed men experienced higher psychological safety than women, white employees experienced higher psychological safety than other ethnic groups, and working parents had the lowest psychological safety in comparison to employees who are not parents. According to a Gallup report, organizations that move towards creating psychological safety for its employees see a 30% reduction in turnover, 40% reduction in safety incidents and a 12% increase in productivity.

Coursera Global Skills Report 2021 Finds US Behind In Digital Skills, Ranked 29th Globally

The digital skills gap in the United States worsened during the pandemic, including disparities persisting by region and gender, according to Coursera’s latest Global Skills Report. The study draws on performance data since the pandemic’s onset from more than 77 million learners on the platform to benchmark skills proficiency across business, technology, and data science for over 100 countries. For the first time, the Global Skills Report also reveals the top skills needed for high-demand entry-level jobs, including the learning hours required to develop them.
