Built for Teams, developers of workforce planning software has released the results of a survey the company commissioned to assess employee retention and attrition once the workforce returns to an office environment after stay-at-home guidelines are lifted. Results indicate that a quarter of respondents are actively seeking or considering alternative employment options. Additionally, 50 percent of respondents say they are extremely anxious or have heightened concerns about going back to a shared workspace. The survey was conducted in mid-April by Dynata, the world’s largest first-party and insights platform, and given to a thousand full-time employees who previously worked in an office environment but now work from home. The large majority of respondents represent organizations across a number of key industries, including technology and telecommunications, professional and financial services, healthcare, and retail.

Supported by survey results, Built for Teams forecasts seismic shifts in staffing and organizational structure for the unforeseeable future due to COVID-19. The company, comprised of experts in developing proven, easy-to-use software, recommends that now, more than ever, is the time for C-suite executives, HR leaders, and department heads to prepare and make a plan around “what-if” scenarios. Circumstances include reducing or adding staff, forecasting, running through hypotheticals, or changing the organizational structure altogether.
C-suite executives benefit from the Built for Teams platform by having an uncomplicated, visionary tool that allows them to manipulate considerations through “what-ifs” while also having a finger on the pulse of the organization in real time for planning and forecasting. HR teams and department heads benefit as they are frequently tasked to produce labor-intensive, outdated spreadsheets, losing days of productivity. An additional perk of the Built for Teams platform is the ability to demonstrate the company’s overall health and workforce strategy to investors, and other governing boards and stakeholders.
Built for Teams CEO, Brett Derricott, suggests that having a workforce strategy is as equally imperative to a business’s success as a financial strategy.
“Employee talent is one of the most valuable assets within a company,” said Derricott. “Our workforce planning solution helps executives and HR departments prepare with a planning tool that mitigates emerging challenges among employees and other stakeholders that naturally materialize during the normal lifespan of an organization, let alone circumstances that cause significant turnover during unprecedented times.”
Built for Teams has received recognition multiple times for Best Ease of Use by Capterra, a popular software product review site. The planning software includes: what-if scenario planning tools, future-state organization charts, data-driven insights and visualizations, hiring and financial plans, and succession planning for identifying key roles and who can replace those roles if needed. The workforce planning module is just one of the company’s full suite of solutions that have evolved from the feedback of engaged customers.
“We are dedicated to working hand-in-hand with our customers in developing the best products for their needs,” said Derricott. “Customer feedback is invaluable to us. It helps us improve the software and the user experience. What we provide in return are products that are intuitive, interactive, and that solve problems for our customers throughout the country.”
