“In the last year, Simul8 users have built models to plan hospital capacity, set up testing and vaccination facilities, manage supply chain disruptions, and reconfigure business processes to enable employees to safely return to work. ”
Simul8 2021 combines sophisticated simulation modeling software with process mining technology in a single platform for both desktop and web. This new functionality allows users to build instant simulations of organizational processes using data from common business systems.
By importing transactional logs from enterprise resource planning, workflow management and other information systems, Simul8 mines data to build an instant simulation of any current process, providing provide precise analysis to better optimize workflows.
This new feature allows experimentation to be applied through process mining. Users can test adaptations to processes within a risk-free, virtual environment and identify solutions that offer greater efficiency or cost savings. Fed by accurate information garnered by process mining, these experiments will produce evidence on the impact of changes so that businesses can introduce greater forward planning into workflow process management.

Frances Sneddon, Simul8 CTO says: “We’ve been keeping a close eye on process mining and expect big things in 2021. We’re delighted to lead the way in combining its huge benefits into this sophisticated decision-making approach.
“From operational changes to large-scale transformation – it has never been faster to experiment with changes to maximize process efficiency through routine, confident decision-making.”
Simul8 2021 also introduces improved sharing functionality, enabling users to build, run and share models on desktop and the web. Shared simulations can be opened in a browser, allowing the recipient to run and experiment with simulations, completely download- and installation-free.
Laura Reid, Simul8 CEO, says: “Our new sharing functionality is another huge step forward in helping more people access the limitless decision-making power of simulation. We can’t wait to see how this feature is utilized to transform decision making at such a critical time.”
Laura continued: “In the last year, Simul8 users have built models to plan hospital capacity, set up testing and vaccination facilities, manage supply chain disruptions, and reconfigure business processes to enable employees to safely return to work.
“Where there is ongoing uncertainty around the globe as the pandemic continues to affect our daily lives, we’re proud to enable our users to rapidly put ideas into action through our agile software platform.”
