NorthCoast 99 Also Honors Flexjet as the First Winner of a Special Category Award for Diversity and Inclusion
Flexjet LLC, a leading global provider of fractional private jet ownership, announced that the Employers Resource Council (ERC), the creators and producers of the 2019 NorthCoast 99 Awards Program, has honored Flexjet for the 16th consecutive year as one of the 99 best places to work in Northeast Ohio. In addition, Flexjet was the first-ever winner of the Special Category Award for Diversity and Inclusion.
“Flexjet’s reputation as a leader in private jet travel has been built on three fundamental principles – fanatical attention to detail, a long-term approach to relationships and a belief that employees are the foundation of a service company. We use these principles to guide everything that we do,” said Michael Silvestro, Flexjet’s Chief Executive Officer. “We attract and retain such outstanding workers by committing to make this an excellent place to work, a place where people want to give their best. The quality of service that we provide comes down to the efforts of our flight crews and ground staff, in Greater Cleveland and around the world, each and every day.”

Flexjet’s Diversity and Inclusion Special Category Award was based on the company placing a strong emphasis on the value each individual brings to the organization’s drive for success. During 2018, Flexjet also enhanced its efforts to attract more diverse candidates by attending diversity-focused conventions, conferences and career fairs, including those for the Organization of Black Aerospace Professionals, the National Gay Pilots Association, Women in Aviation and MRO Americas.
“This award is particularly meaningful considering that the aviation workforce traditionally has been a male-dominated environment,” said Bob Sullivan, Flexjet’s Chief Administrative Officer. “For us, it is never a question of lowering standards, especially in safety-critical jobs, but rather it is about removing bias and resolving to be more open and inclusive. And, in pursuing and hiring from a broader pool of candidates, Flexjet positions itself to meet the needs of the business’s recent extraordinary growth and to experience the increased success that comes along with a more diverse workforce.”

It also works to provide a safe, progressive, diverse and rewarding workplace with highly competitive pay and benefits.
Flexjet’s award as one of the NorthCoast 99 was based on how it addressed top-performer attraction, retention and development in five distinct areas during the period January 1-December 31, 2018. The areas on which Flexjet and other companies were evaluated include:
