Enhancing Customer Experience by the Use of Technology

Domino’s Pizza has significant business in both delivery and carryout pizza. Founded in 1960, it has over 16,300 stores in 85+ markets today and is a top public restaurant brand worldwide. Its global retail sales touched $6.6 billion in the U.S. and more than $6.9 billion internationally in 2018. Domino’s achieved more than half of its global sales from digital channels. This has been the result of investing in technology innovation. The food-chain became one of the firsts from the industry to test out self-driving vehicle delivery. It announced a partnership with Nuro in June 2019 to further experiment with autonomous pizza delivery.

In the US, the company generates more than 65% of the entire sales via digital channels and has developed quite a few inventive ordering platforms, Facebook, Google Home, Apple Watch, Messenger, Twitter, and Amazon Echo to name a few. Domino’s Hotspots® has been another innovative ordering platform that features over 200,000 unique, non-traditional delivery locations. The overall focus on enhancing the customer experience with the help of technology adds to the employee experience within the company.
