Deloitte Digital’s Salesforce Academy Continues to Add Training Opportunities for University Students Interested in Tech and Consulting

The new training is a first-of-its-kind virtual opportunity for students to build Salesforce CRM and consulting skills with Deloitte Digital leaders

Deloitte is introducing college students across the United States to Salesforce and the world of consulting through Deloitte Digital’s Salesforce Academy, which offers bootcamps and as of 2020, a virtual training opportunity. Founded in 2018, this is the newest addition to the program which has trained hundreds of college students through campus bootcamps.

“The vast majority of universities do not have Salesforce education as a course offering,” said Jeff Powrie, principal, Deloitte Consulting LLP and US Salesforce talent lead. “According to a recent IDC report from October 2019, Salesforce will drive the creation of 4.2 million new jobs and more than $1.2 trillion in business revenues worldwide by 2025. This is a great opportunity for students to learn Salesforce basics and gain experience that could open doors in the future.”

Through live webinars and newsletters facilitated by professionals from Deloitte and Salesforce, participants will learn the basics of Salesforce, see what consulting at Deloitte is like and gain experience working with the fastest growing CRM tool. The topics include an overview of the Salesforce ecosystem; a day in the life of a Deloitte consultant engaged on a Salesforce assignment; and a 360-degree view of a Salesforce project. The program is open to all university students based in the U.S. regardless of school, year or major.

Deloitte Digital’s Salesforce Academy has set the goal to provide on-campus Salesforce and consulting training to over 1,000 college students by the end of 2021. The program has already trained hundreds of college students through bootcamps since its founding in 2018.

“The virtual trainings are building on the momentum of Deloitte’s on-campus bootcamps and competitions,” said Tyler Prince, executive vice president, industries and partners, Salesforce. “We support Deloitte in providing students with a leg up, helping them break into and succeed in the workforce of the future.”

Past participants have seen this value firsthand as they began life at Deloitte. “The hard skills I learned through Deloitte Digital’s Salesforce Academy jumpstarted my career,” said Annelise Morgan, analyst, Deloitte Consulting LLP and Washington University in St. Louis 2018 bootcamp participant. “In the first 100 days, I was certified as a Salesforce Administrator and contributed to the development of a Salesforce Accelerator that was shown at Dreamforce 2019. I’d encourage any student considering the opportunity to sign up.”
