“Box Platform leverages Box’s enterprise-grade content management features, including encryption services, metadata and security certifications, making it possible for Astrella to transform how their clients create, consume and collaborate on content”
By building this new feature on the Box Platform, Astrella users are able to seamlessly maintain company documents more securely and comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Employees and investors will have the ability to access their own personalized documents with the added collaboration capabilities and security of Box. Instant access to these crucial documents is extremely important as they are often created many years before a liquidity event or investor exit. Sensitive documents including Articles of Incorporation, investor documents, NEC forms, employee or investor prospectuses, term sheets, and equity plan documents will all be stored with proper data privacy obligations within the integration.

Astrella was developed by AST PCS, the Silicon Valley-based unit of ownership data management leader AST, as a transformative technology in private company shareholder management. The new cloud-based software-as-a-service platform brings together private blockchain technology, artificial intelligence (AI) and predictive analytics to provide an alternative to traditional database solutions. The system is built with an API-based ecosystem to integrate seamlessly with leading providers to private firms, and a number of partnerships have already been formed.
“It was essential for AST to integrate a best-of-breed solution like Box, which is universally praised for data protection and privacy and works with some of the world’s leading global corporations,” said AST PCS Head of Technology Steve Madeira. “Box supports a collaborative approach in its services that is uniquely complimentary to both AST’s breadth of ownership data management solutions and the design aspects of Astrella. We are excited that this latest update to the Astrella platform will provide industry-leading digital document storage, applications and workflows to private companies at all stages.”
