In addition to being a legal counsel, Dr. Roy is also an expert in AI. He has a Ph.D. degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a JD degree from Berkeley Law at the University of California at Berkeley. His knowledge of Artificial intelligence makes him a good fit for companies looking to employ AI in their endeavors.

Previously, Dr. Roy was an Associate General Counsel at Marvell Technology Group Ltd. where he led a team of legal professionals that advised clients on IP rights, standards activities, litigation risk clearance, product security, open-source software, licensing and other commercial contracts, and M&A. He was in private practice as a partner of Kirkland & Ellis LLP prior to that. There, he represented high-tech clients including Fortune-100 companies in litigation, licensing, and counseling. Dr. Roy expressed excitement on joining Eightfold.
