Compt, an end-to-end reimbursement platform optimized for personalizing benefits for workforce, is pleased to announce the appointment of Mari Sifo, SPHR, GPHR, SHRM-SCP, to its Board of Directors. Sifo brings a wealth of experience to the board with more than 20 years of human resources and business leadership experience at several high-growth companies in essential industries with frontline workforces.
“Not only is that perspective instrumental in how you build and grow a scaling company, but it is also the voice of our buyer. It is someone who can give direct product feedback and help us prioritize based on HR Leaders’ needs. Mari represents exactly this.”
Currently the EVP and CHRO at Host Hotels & Resorts, Sifo’s expertise reaches beyond human resources and into sales and operations, where she has cultivated a deep knowledge of employee engagement, talent management, and organizational culture. Her insight proves invaluable as Compt continues to scale its operations and support more global clients across all industries.
“We are thrilled to welcome Mari to our board,” said Compt Founder and CEO Amy Spurling. “One of my areas of focus at Compt is creating a diverse team, including the board. This is part of our competitive edge. We are lucky to have Neeraj Agrawal from Battery Ventures and Henri Pierre-Jacques from Harlem Capital representing our investors and providing an overall market perspective. When Kerry Hands joined us last year, she brought a wealth of experience from the broker side of the Employee Benefits space. We knew we had another voice that needed to be included, though – and that was the voice of a CHRO.”
Spurling added, “Not only is that perspective instrumental in how you build and grow a scaling company, but it is also the voice of our buyer. It is someone who can give direct product feedback and help us prioritize based on HR Leaders’ needs. Mari represents exactly this.”
In an interview, Sifo expressed her excitement about joining Compt’s board: “Compt is on the leading edge of what it means for organizations to truly give people what they want and need, and in meeting them where they are. The whole concept of flexible employee stipends that give people the freedom to use it how they best see fit is the future of benefits.”
Prior to her role at Host Hotels & Resorts, Sifo served as CHRO and Communications Officer at SWM International, Inc., as Senior Director of Human Resources at CP Kelco, and in other HR leadership roles at Mondelez International, United Technologies Corporation, and Owens Corning. Sifo is a member of the Gartner Atlanta CHRO Governing Board and serves on the board of 21st Century Leaders, a nonprofit that connects, transforms, and inspires high school students.
