HR.com, the largest network of human resources (HR) executives, has partnered with Validation Institute to offer the recently-launched Certified Health Value Professional (CHVP) credential, a certification for healthcare benefits practitioners and benefit advisors to demonstrate expertise in healthcare purchasing. The certification requires professionals to complete training modules that educate them on how to identify and monitor high-value, high-impact programs, and determine whether vendor performance reports and claims are accurate in order to deliver the most value and cost-savings.

The course was strategically designed for benefits advisors and purchasers, especially those who may be feeling pressured to cut costs but maintain the quality of healthcare programs. Registration in the course program has shown considerable success since its 2019 launch, backed by positive feedback from participants.
The Certified Health Value Professional program includes a dozen comprehensive, on-demand training modules in key areas of healthcare benefits management. Each module has been developed by a recognized industry expert in that field, and reviewed for comprehensiveness, accuracy, and objectivity by two other subject matter experts. The program offers personalization and flexibility, allowing students to select and pass nine out of eleven modules along with the final capstone module.

“The Certified Health Value Professional designation is the only one of its kind, created at the request of healthcare purchasers who found themselves facing higher costs and a need to understand why. We are thrilled to partner with HR.com to bring this important education and tools to their community of healthcare benefit purchasers who are on the front lines of making an impact on healthcare costs,” said Aimee O’Brien, Chief Marketing Officer at Validation Institute.
Those who complete the course will receive the professional accreditation of Certified Health Value Professional. The course program is now live and available for immediate access. Group rates are available – teams of five or more are encouraged to sign up together.
Past participants reflected on the professional designation, saying, “To recruit and retain top talent, employers are in a constant battle to balance cost against value to the organization. The Certified Health Value Professional program by Validation Institute arms healthcare purchasing decision makers with the tools and knowledge to find that balance,” shared Dick Finnegan, CEO of C-Suite Analytics.
