TrueBlue announced that it has entered into a new business relationship with Uber Works, Inc., a subsidiary of Uber Technologies, Inc., to bring more resources to workers.
Uber Works is a platform that connects workers with businesses that need to fill available shifts. TrueBlue created a new business venture called PeopleWorks to serve as an employer and payroll service provider for workers booking jobs on the Uber Works app. PeopleWorks’ tech-powered back office takes care of the employees’ needs throughout the employment lifecycle, including same-day pay.

“TrueBlue has been driving digital disruption within the staffing industry with our JobStack and Affinix offerings, and our relationship with Uber Works is a component of that strategy,” said Patrick Beharelle, CEO of TrueBlue. “Uber Works’ choice to work with TrueBlue is a testament to the strength of our payroll offering, world-class service, and decades of expertise in on-demand staffing.”
In 2017, TrueBlue introduced its JobStack platform to connect companies with on-demand, temporary and seasonal staff 24/7. JobStack, which is supporting nearly 17,000 clients, fills a job every nine seconds. JobStack will remain separate and distinct from this new Uber Works relationship.
