- Jehane Myers recognized for maximizing human potential at specialty underwriter
Orchid Underwriters Agency, LLC,, among the largest independent managing general underwriters in the United States, announced that Jehane Myers, Vice President of Human Resources, has been named HR Professional of the Year by the HR Florida State Council. This annual award recognizes a Human Resources leader who has advanced the profession in a significant way. The individuals nominated for this award are “best in class” serving as role models for the profession by setting the standard for others to follow and applying their expertise to enhance organizational effectiveness.

Myers, who has led human resources at Orchid Insurance for the past four years, has been instrumental in driving recruitment, retention, and talent development while promoting individual success at the Vero Beach-based MGU.

Myers joined Orchid Insurance after serving as Director of Human Resources at Bridgevine, Inc. (acquired by Updater). Myers is a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and a Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional (SHRM-CP). She also holds an MBA in Management from Amberton University and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Louisiana Tech University. She is the HR Florida District Director for District 6, a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), a member of the Intern Committee for WSIA, and a board member of Mentoring Families and Kids of Jacksonville, Fla.
Representing more than 16,000 individual human resource professionals, the HR Florida State Council is the state affiliate for the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). HR Florida is a 100 percent volunteer entity consisting of 28 SHRM-affiliated chapters across the state.
