Latest COVID-19 Variant Scrambles Business Plans and Stresses Internal Communications Capabilities and the Importance of Digital Workplaces

  • Igloo Software Sees Monthly Active Users Increase by as much as 194% as Certain Industries and Larger Organizations Become Reliant on Hybrid and Remote Office Environments

Society is entering the third year of the COVID-19 pandemic, and changes to the workplace dynamic once thought to be temporary have now become more engrained – making digital full-scale Digital Workplaces solutions imperative to effective internal communications, engaged employees, and maintaining a strong company culture during a time of great transformation.

“As the pandemic continues to impact every facet of life, organizations across all industries and sizes are seeking solutions to better address the complexities of engaging remote, hybrid, and in-office employees. Virtual meeting and messaging applications help but they do not offer the holistic experience of a digital workplace”

Igloo Software data from January 2020 to December 2021 revealed certain industries experienced sharper increases in the number of active monthly users on its intranet platform during the pandemic — revealing the crucial role modern intranet technologies have played in engaging the pandemic workplace. There was a 194% increase in user traffic in the computer/technology industry, 105% increase in retail/wholesale, 85% increase in healthcare, and 69% increase in business services. The number of active monthly users increased by 45% for companies with over 5,000 employees and 34% overall. The results prove that fully integrated, end-to-end SaaS intranets have experienced a renaissance as patchwork point solutions cannot fulfill the needs of a modern, remote, and hybrid workplace.
