InspiriTec Make New Jersey Top Workplaces List Again; Newark Office Spotlighted for Excellence in Customer Service and Dedication to Employees

For the second straight year, InspiriTec Inc. has been named to the New Jersey Top Workplaces list, compiled by NJ.com, the Star Ledger, and Jersey’s Best. The list rewards excellent work environments and applauds companies that demonstrate uncommon commitment to their workers, customers, and mission.

Reacting to the announcement, John Connolly, CEO and cofounder of InspiriTec, said, “I’m delighted to say I take absolutely no credit for this wonderful award. I’m thrilled for our colleagues and workers who make our mission happen. I just get to sit back and be proud of what they do.”

The list is the result of a survey by Energage, an employee engagement platform. Staff members of New Jersey companies with 50 or more employees were invited to submit nominations. Philadelphia-headquartered but growing its New Jersey presence, InspiriTec was among the small companies (50-149 employees) on the list.

Singled out once again was InspiriTec’s Newark office, where workers manage inbound Customer Service on behalf of the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs. InspiriTec agents field questions from New Jersey professional licensees such as nurses, medical examiners, and home improvement contractors – and a new licensee board has just been added, in social work.

“The culture of InspiriTec is just unique,” said Ryan Schepise, Call Center Manager at Newark. “At some companies, bosses don’t know the new hires, but we all take the time to get to know people, learn their talents and challenges, and encourage and inspire them to be their best.” He noted InspiriTec’s double commitment to excellent customer service and to hiring veterans and people with disabilities. “Almost all our workers have some kind of challenge they have to work through,” he said, “but they want to work and strive to do better.”

Rachel Keys, Customer Service Representative, says she values both the workplace at InspiriTec and her job in customer service. “I do have a couple of challenges,” she said, ‘but the staff makes sure you are assessed well and can do the job. If something comes up related to your needs, they’ll work with you on it. That was very welcoming to me. As for the work, I love helping people; that’s my main focus.”

LaRay Hay, also a Customer Service Representative, says that “InspiriTec really does open the doors for people who are disabled and want to work. It’s an encouraging place that brings people from all types of backgrounds. People come to work every day in wheelchairs, in walkers, in special vans, and you see they’re human beings like anyone else. They have heart, as in ‘I’m not allowing my disabilities to get in the way of the things I want to achieve.’ ”

Fellow Customer Service Representative Tom Kinney says he sees why InspiriTec would be on the list of Top Workplaces. “The people I work with, both the managers and my fellow workers, really make the difference,” he said. “I’ve never worked at a place like this before. They really care about you, and they’re ready and willing if things come up. They know customer service is hard work, and they really have your back.”
