- 2021 marks the sixth time GreenPath has received the top workplace honor
GreenPath Financial Wellness, a national nonprofit that provides financial counseling and debt management services, has been awarded a Top Workplaces 2021 honor by the Detroit Free Press. The list is based solely on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey administered by employee engagement technology partner Energage LLC. The anonymous survey uniquely measures 15 culture drivers that are critical to the success of any organization: including alignment, execution, and connection, just to name a few.
“During this very challenging time, Top Workplaces has proven to be a beacon of light for organizations, as well as a sign of resiliency and strong business performance”
“During this very challenging time, Top Workplaces has proven to be a beacon of light for organizations, as well as a sign of resiliency and strong business performance,” said Eric Rubino, Energage CEO. “When you give your employees a voice, you come together to navigate challenges and shape your path forward. Top Workplaces draw on real-time insights into what works best for their organization, so they can make informed decisions that have a positive impact on their people and their business.”

GreenPath was ranked among the Top 25 percent of 2021 awardees and earned culture badges for efforts in these three areas: Clued-In Employees, Open-Mindedness and Supportive Managers. To maintain transparency and keep employees informed during the COVID-19 pandemic, GreenPath produced a weekly video each Friday to provide updates for the entire organization while working remotely. Supportive managers at GreenPath offered employees needed guidance throughout the pandemic via flexible schedules, grant circles, cash flow planning, unemployment assistance and Paid Time Off buyouts. Survey results showed GreenPath employees’ appreciation of the nonprofit’s open-mindedness and inclusiveness through the Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Access (I.D.E.A.) initiative, a company-wide commitment to intentionally and systematically align company resources, interactions, practices, policies, systems, and processes to drive engagement across employees, clients and communities toward I.D.E.A. objectives.

“Our greatest asset is our workforce. To have our employees recognize GreenPath as a top workplace, to have this distinction made based on their feedback, makes it profound,” said Kristen Holt, president and CEO, GreenPath Financial Wellness. “We are thrilled to see the positive response among employees to the I.D.E.A. initiative. Support for I.D.E.A. principles and practices are essential as we contribute to the financial wellness of our diverse clients and communities.”
GreenPath’s mission — empowering people to lead financially healthy lives – is closely tied to its I.D.E.A. work. GreenPath will use insights it gains during intra-community research to design enhanced messaging and engaging products and services that best meet the needs of underserved communities. Increased diversity of GreenPath’s leadership and workforce, increased understanding of the individual and collective needs of its workforce, and its drive to recruit, promote, and create access to opportunities for all team members will help define success of the initiative.
