Meet K2, Tech Mahindra’s AI-Based HR Humanoid

Get, set and ready — an HR Humanoid is all set to greet you on the first day of your office, marking a new chapter in the Employee Experience journeys.

In a massive push to the Indian HR Technology ecosystem, Tech Mahindra has announced the launch of K2. Tech Mahindra’s K2 is one of its kind HR Humanoid designed to enhance Employee Experience using AI. Tech Mahindra announced HR Humanoid for its Noida Special Economic Forum in UP, India.

Tech Mahindra is a leading Digital Transformation and Business Re-engineering Services provider.

In their official announcement, the Company said —

“A perfect blend of knowledge and kindness, K2 will take over the routine HR transactions to provide constant assistance to the HR team in creating an enhanced employee experience. Tech Mahindra’s first HR humanoid was introduced in its Hyderabad campus, earlier this month.”

How is K2 Transforming HR Technology with AI

K2 leverages state of the art AI technology, enabling the Managers to initiate a relevant conversation without any need for wake-up commands. In addition, K2 can respond to queries with text display along with Speech. Unlike a digital chatbot on-screen, K2 can address general and specific HR-related employee queries as well as handle personal requests for actions like providing payslip, tax forms, etc., and will enable the HR team to focus on other important areas for employee development.

Harshvendra Soin, Chief People Officer, Tech Mahindra, said —

“In today’s digital era, the changing talent landscape is making it imperative for organizations to not just be customer focused, but more ‘human experience’ centric. At Tech Mahindra, we are focused on leveraging technology to further enhance human experiences by making them more personalized and meaningful. K2 has been designed to add value to the employee lifecycle across various touchpoints and ready ourselves to be a workplace of the future. We believe the future will be more human than we think.”

Why Humanoids?

With the technology already making its presence felt in the HR Technology landscape, we expect the HR Humanoid a glorious addition to the list. Before the launch of K2, Tech Mahindra has already implemented an Artificial Intelligence-based Facial Recognition System (FCR). This FCR is used to register the attendance of employees that has drastically reduced the time spent by an associate in updating the timesheet.

Recently, Tech Mahindra also launched Talex – the world’s first AI-driven marketplace of talent that maps skills of the existing talent pool.

3 Reasons You May Practice Working with a Humanoid at your Workplace

Companies are transforming digitally and Humanoids can be an essential non-human workforce in the coming years. As we see the rise of Robotics and Automation at the workplace, HR humanoids would be a ubiquitous choice for Managers to tackle tough interactions related to work hygiene, Job appraisals, conflict resolutions and so on.

Here are three obvious reasons why you should like and embrace working with Humanoids.

#1 Humanoids are unbiased toward employees and offer ‘listening’ opportunity to employees.

#2 Humanoids running on AI can be trained and supervised for other skills such as COGNITIVE LEARNING, AUGMENTED INTELLIGENCE and FACIAL RECOGNITION.

#3 Humanoids can replace humans from mundane and redundant tasks, that often impact workforce productivity.

As part of the TechMHRNxt charter, Tech Mahindra is betting big on next-gen technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning to address real-time HR issues by delivering innovative solutions and services. The organization is continuously looking to develop and invest in futuristic tech-enabled possibilities for the benefit of its employees, which would serve them throughout the employee life cycle and help build the workplace of the future.

Truly, AI and Humanoids can help reimagine the next course of Employee Experience using HR Technologies.
