Sekhar Garisa, CEO, foundit (previously Monster APAC & ME) said, “Technology has always helped in achieving monotonous human tasks accurately and efficiently and with solving everyday problems. However, adoption of revolutionizing tech such as ChatGPT has emerged as a game changer in the tech world. While there are several dialogues regarding job losses with the intervention of AI, the same is expected to create newer roles and increase employment opportunities. Undoubtedly, it would have a profound impact and will act as a catalyst for technological advancement. It would be undermining to say that it will be a threat.”
Sekhar added, “In the present scenario, AI and automation are acting more as catalysts than threats for professionals in the industry. It is necessary to keep up with emerging trends as every role becomes obsolete beyond a certain period of time without new learnings. Hence, upskilling is a long-term investment for career progression, which should be fostered along the growth journey of any employee making them market ready even in tough times. Today’s employees must be prepared to adapt to learn, unlearn and relearn to remain relevant in future”.
