Medallia Experience Cloud empowers University of Strathclyde

The University of Strathclyde announced its partnership with Medallia, Inc. for enhancing employee and community experience.

The University will leverage the software-as-a-service platform, Medallia Experience Cloud, as part of their People Strategy 2025 and commit to listening and responding to the views of its staff. The University is also leveraging the idea management platform, Medallia Crowdicity, for tapping the ideas and knowledge of their students, faculty, and wider communities. This will help in managing a range of health and wellbeing challenges with and for citizens, the NHS, and other researchers and care partners.

The global leader in customer and employee experience, Medallia, uses AI and machine learning technology to reveal predictive insights automatically and drive powerful business actions. Its award-winning SaaS platform, Medallia Experience Cloud, will empower Universities such as the University of Strathclyde in making the employee voices count by responding at the moment. It will also make it easier for employees to have a say in the ‘always-on feedback’ that goes beyond surveys and gauges real-time opinions and sentiment.

The Deputy Director of HR, University of Strathclyde, Sara Copeland, said that Medallia’s innovative and collaborative service will help to listen and respond to the needs of our colleagues. Dr. Marilyn Lennon from the university’s Department of Computer and Information Sciences added that crowdsourcing would be an excellent way to engage University stakeholders, from students, industry partners, and local community residents to the wider health and care communities in Scotland.

Discovering Best Ideas With Medallia Crowdicity

Medallia Crowdicity comes with built-in gamification, a built-in virtual community layer, and rewards, and helps organizations to discover and action ideas anytime, anywhere, and from everyone. Medallia President and CEO, Leslie Stretch, who is also an alumnus of the university, said that brilliant ideas can come from two sources, anywhere and everywhere.

The university staff has identified 4 high-impact use cases that multiple groups and departments will be using to pilot:

  • Industry Engagement: The ways to co-innovate with industry and work faster on small projects that impact major business and societal challenges.
  • NHS, Social Care, and Third Sector Engagement: Gathering insights from colleagues in the NHS and care sector about university curriculum and identifying any gaps in the market for upskilling the future workforce.
  • Citizen Science or Living Lab: Engagement with professionals and the public to identify themes and topics related to health and care.
  • Student Innovation and Upskilling: Strathclyde leads interdisciplinary student projects that address real challenges society, the economy, and businesses face. Leveraging Crowdicity to help track and measure the reach, engagement, and social impact of university programs.
