“At New Balance, the health and well-being of our associates is of prime importance,” said Glenn Haskell, Benefits Director at New Balance. “We realize that our associates working in our Massachusetts factories and distribution center need additional support and resources in working toward improving their health. New Balance is pleased to be able to work with Wellness Workdays to provide a bi-lingual onsite Health Coach whose goal is to support the physical and mental well-being of our associates.”

Wellness Workdays has partnered with New Balance for over five years to deliver a strategic and comprehensive well-being approach to support the Life Balance initiative. While health coaching has always been part of the New Balance wellness program, due to time and access constraints, associates at the manufacturing sites were often unable to participate. “We are excited to meet people where they are, literally and figuratively at the manufacturing sites to provide access to our Health Coaches along with relevant programming,” said Debra Wein, CEO, and Founder of Wellness Workdays. “We saw a gap in participation and knew it was critical to adjust our program strategy. Bringing onsite coaching and biometric screenings to the manufacturing sites provides associates with critical health information and personalized support, making wellness attainable for the entire employee population.”

In the first three months of the program, 80% of benefitted manufacturing associates participated in coaching and biometric screenings. Behavioral Health and Wellness Coaches help employees identify top areas of concern, enhance personal motivation for change, establish relevant goals, and provide accountability and support. Beginning in 2023, more wellness initiatives such as risk-specific programming, mindfulness /emotional well-being support, and team-based challenges will be offered at the New Balance manufacturing sites.
