“What excites me most about Legion is its mission to turn hourly jobs into good jobs using technology to meaningfully improve the day-to-day experience of frontline workers while delivering real value to businesses.”

Carolyn brings deep experience building and leading people organizations in high-growth, venture-backed companies. Most recently, she served as Chief People Officer at The Black Tux, where she led the people strategy for a 500-employee, multi-state workforce spanning corporate, retail, and operations teams. Prior to that, she held senior HR leadership roles at Pangea Money Transfer, helping guide the organization through rapid growth and transformation.

Throughout her career, Carolyn has consistently delivered measurable business impact through people strategy, including increasing employee engagement by more than 20% and reducing voluntary attrition by 40-50% across critical roles. She also significantly improved hiring efficiency, achieving a consistent time-to-fill of 30-45 days. Her approach focuses on building structured performance management systems, strengthening leadership capability, and aligning talent strategy directly with business outcomes.

“Carolyn knows how to scale without losing what makes a company special,” said Sanish Mondkar, Founder and CEO of Legion Technologies. “She has built people organizations and cultures that drive performance and engagement and strengthen leadership. As we enter our next phase of growth, her ability to combine a strategic people vision with hands-on execution will be critical to ensuring we continue to innovate while building a strong, high-performing organization.”

At Legion, Carolyn will focus on building the talent and culture needed to support global expansion and long-term growth. Her priorities include evolving Legion’s culture to maintain its entrepreneurial spirit while introducing greater clarity and consistency, strengthening leadership development, and implementing scalable people systems that drive accountability and performance.

“What excites me most about Legion is its mission to turn hourly jobs into good jobs using technology to meaningfully improve the day-to-day experience of frontline workers while delivering real value to businesses,” said Carolyn Kwon Montgomery. “To truly deliver on that mission, we have to hold ourselves to the same standard internally, building a company where employees are supported, developed, and empowered to do their best work.”

Carolyn’s appointment further strengthens Legion’s leadership team and underscores the company’s continued investment in its people, culture, and organizational excellence as the company scales its impact across industries and geographies.
