“We are obviously excited to hear from Mike Smith and we’re thrilled to be able to share with our students and community that we’re willing to do whatever it takes to make sure our seniors are future ready and passionate about their dreams beyond high school.”
Already being integrated by dozens of schools that reach thousands of students across the United States, the Future Ready curriculum kicks off with a live, virtual assembly that will be broadcast online and hosted by serial entrepreneur, leading motivational speaker and Find Your Grind Co-founder Mike Smith. Each week of the eight-week course consists of virtual lessons on challenging topics that drive rewarding conversations, reflection and engagement between students, teachers and staff. The curriculum is pre-built for each district and also offers schools tools to measure the course’s impact.

Find Your Grind was founded by musician and entrepreneur Nick Gross along with Smith in 2018 to help Gen Z discover their purpose and explore career opportunities in the emerging economy. The company’s standards-aligned core curriculum centers on social emotional learning and begins with a lifestyle assessment that helps individuals understand and match their desired interests with potential careers. Find Your Grind’s deep-dive video content, interactive lessons and projects focus on engaging specific 21st-century topics and rely heavily on student agency, encouraging individuals to teach themselves. The platform also boasts an extensive library of mentors, including Major League Baseball player Clayton Kershaw, Oscar-winning costume designer Ruth Carter, musician Will.I.Am and skater and entrepreneur Rob Dyrdek, who provide students with real-world insights and advice to help them discover what they are meant to do.
“Figuring out who you are and what it is that you want to do in this life is hard enough, but the obstacles posed by COVID-19 have made it even tougher,” said Susie Harrison, Find Your Grind’s CGO. “Future Ready provides teachers a curriculum that easily fills the gaps in lesson planning created by the pandemic uncertainty while also engaging young adults — namely high school seniors who are at an absolutely critical point in their lives — with the kind of real-world information they genuinely want to consume and that will help them navigate their own path.”
